Transporting ice cream in a food jug? What initially sounds unusual is a great way to have a cool refreshment on the go, especially in summer. Thanks to the double-walled 18/8 stainless steel insulation, our Food Jugs not only keep warm food reliably at temperature, but also ice cream, sorbet or frozen yogurt so cool that it doesn't melt.

Most people know our Food Jugs as reliable companions for warm meals. Whether it's soup on a winter hike, chili while camping or lunch in the office. But the same insulation technology also ensures that cold food and desserts stay chilled for many hours.

With a pre-chilled food jug, you can reliably transport not only ice cream. Sorbet, frozen yogurt and ice cubes for cold drinks also stay cold for a long time. And the best part: you can eat directly from the container. With many of our food jugs, the lid also serves as a practical bowl. Ideal for hikes, camping trips, bike tours, or a day at the lake.

Recipe 2: Cookies & cream ice cream with chocolate chunks

Ingredients:

  • 250 ml whipping cream
  • 200 g sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 chocolate cookies
  • 50 g dark chocolate

Preparation:

Whip the cream until stiff and mix with the condensed milk. Roughly break the cookies, chop the chocolate and fold in. Then freeze for at least 6 hours and then fill into the food jug for transport.

Recipe 3: Frozen Yoghurt with raspberries

Ingredients:

  • 500 g Greek yoghurt
  • 200 g raspberries
  • 2 tsp marple syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • a few fresh raspberries for serving

Preparation:

Blend the raspberries with marple syrup, vanilla extract and lemon juice until smooth. Stir the raspberry purée into the Greek yogurt and transfer the mixture to a shallow container. Freeze it for at least 4 to 5 hours. During the first 2 hours, stir the mixture with a fork every 30 to 45 minutes to help create a smoother texture with smaller ice crystals. Before filling your food jug, pre-chill it with ice water. Then transfer the frozen yogurt directly from the freezer into the food jug to keep it cold for longer.

How to keep your ice cream frozen longer

With a few simple tips, you can get the most out of your food jug for ice cream:

  • Pre-chill the food jug with ice water or ice cubes before filling.
  • Fill the ice cream directly from the freezer if possible.
  • Only open the lid briefly when on the go.
  • Transport the food jug in the shade or in a backpack.

Cold refreshment for every outdoor adventure

A food jug doesn't just have to transport hot meals. Thanks to its reliable insulation, it is just as suitable for cold dishes. This way, you'll have a cool refreshment on warm days, whether on a hike, camping, traveling or during your lunch break.
