What is the concept behind the Esbit food jugs?
The Esbit brand has always developed products that allow outdoor enthusiasts to prepare or heat food on the go in nature. As a logical extension of this range, we quickly set our sights on another product category: a selection of food jugs that make it possible to take prepared food with you. The result is a diverse range of food jugs in different colors and sizes.
All Esbit food jugs are insulated, which means they can keep the contents warm or cold for hours. Whether you're meal prepping for hikes, camping trips, or as a lunch box on your lunch break, these reusable containers make on-the-go meals just a touch away.

How long do Esbit food jugs stay hot or cold?
Our food jugs reliably keep their contents warm or cool for hours. You can find information about thermal insulation on the product pages. These show how warm the contents are expected to be after 6, 12 and 24 hours. For best results, we recommend preheating or cooling the container with hot or cold water for at least 5 minutes before use. However, the ability to keep warm also depends on other factors such as the ambient temperature, the capacity and the size of the container. The temperature is maintained longer if the container is opened as little as possible while on the move.
Are Esbit food jugs coated on the inside?
Our food jugs are made of high-quality, double-walled 18/8 stainless steel. To maintain the temperature, we use a copper coating in the inaccessible, vacuum-sealed part of the container. The interior of the container that comes into contact with food is not coated.

Yes, all Esbit food jugs are 100 % leak-proof.
What are the advantages of a closure with a pressure release button?
A closure with a pressure release button makes it easy to open the food jugs at any time. Especially with very hot food, a negative pressure can form in the container, similar to a jam jar, which can make it difficult to open. The pressure release button releases this vacuum.
