On October 29th, Esbit Compagnie GmbH celebrates its 75th anniversary. On this occasion, we would like to say thank you for your trust in us and our brand. We would also like to take you on a short journey through our company history.

Our company history
Esbit Compagnie GmbH was founded in Hamburg in 1949, originally for the export of Erich Schumm products. Grandfather Fritz Paap was one of the first generation of managing directors of the company and, together with his partners, distributed solid fuel tablets and pocket stoves from Hamburg all over the world.
Did you know? Schumm brand plastic articles for the home and garden were also part of the first product range - for example soap dispensers and cap clips.
In the 2000s, his son Dieter Paap handed over the management to his sons Philip and Robert, who now run the family business as managing directors.
Yesterday and today: Esbit solid fuel
Our solid fuel has been part of the Esbit Compagnie range since the beginning. Over the years, we have also developed larger tablet formats and the corresponding cooking sets and stoves. The functionality and advantages have remained unchanged over the years.
Refreshments always to hand
We are constantly expanding our range, so in addition to outdoor cooking equipment, we have now also added drinking and insulated containers. This means that food is always to hand when you suddenly feel hungry or thirsty.

Esbit Design
When developing new products, we always keep an eye on ensuring that the design is user-friendly and powerful. Some products remain almost unchanged in our range over the years.
Coffee maker
The design of our coffee maker has hardly changed for over 70 years. One new feature since 2019, however, is the new feet for an optimized stand.
Solid Fuel Cookset
Folding handles and a stand with wind protection have long been part of our Esbit design for cooking sets. However, our range of materials has expanded over the years.
Pocket Stove
Our pocket stove is an Esbit product from the very beginning. Small, quick to assemble and with space for solid fuel inside - we remain true to these principles to this day.
Multi-piece cooking set
From large to small: Our cooking sets can always be folded into each other to save space during transportation. A heat exchanger on the CS2350WN now enables large volumes of pots to be heated much more efficiently.
